What's New in Workplace?
Today we kicked off our annual Transform event series in London. We made several product announcements, many of which will be launching on Workplace this month. Read on to learn more about what was announced plus several other improvements that are available now.
Share Workplace content to other platforms
Our Plugins feature lets you securely share Workplace content to your internal websites or intranet, and to other platforms like SharePoint. This can make important information easier to find, increase your content's reach and drive Workplace engagement. Go to the Help Center to find out more about Plugins.
Go live from Webex Meetings
Existing Webex customers can now go live from their Webex meeting to everyone on Workplace with a seamless experience. Start broadcasting on Workplace from Webex with just a few simple steps. Go to the Help Center to learn more.
Get early access to enhanced Live Q&A
Empower leaders and employees to engage in two-way conversations through our enhanced, highly interactive Q&A experience on Live. All hosts in a Multi Person Live will be able to respond to questions by bringing them into the center of the screen for viewers. And once a question is answered it can be marked as such. Get a full walkthrough of the Live video experience with these interactive demos.
Better express yourself at work
Workplace is launching two new features to help you better express yourself and your identity at work. You can now set a default skin tone for your emojis that best reflects you by going to the emoji picker on any post and clicking the gear icon to choose your tone. You can also add your name pronunciation on your profile to let your coworkers know how to say your name correctly. Navigate to the About section on your profile to set this up. Learn more about these and other Workplace D&I features and best practices in this guide.
A new calendar integration for Events
Our Events calendar integration gives users the ability to sync Workplace events with third party calendars, including Outlook and Gmail. This will ensure people never miss important events happening on Workplace because they can see a consistent view of their day, in whatever tool they’re using. This integration works by sending emails with events as attachments (e.g. ics files) to anyone invited to an event, leveraging the attendees’ email address on Workplace.
Deleting Safety Center events
We’re giving Safety Operators more control over the messages they send in Safety Center by allowing them to delete messages once an incident has closed. When the incident is deleted all Safety Operators who were assigned to that incident will receive an email recap describing the incident. Once an incident is deleted the content cannot be retrieved in the future. Learn more about Safety Center and employee safety communications in this guide.
We are now giving group admins more control over Topics in the groups they manage. Group admins can now create or promote existing Topics into Pinned Topics, remove Pinned Topics or deactivate Pinned Topics for a given group. We hope this will make topics easier to use and more customizable by group.
